VoWiFi

VoWiFi, or Voice over Wi‑Fi, is a technology that uses a Wi‑Fi router as a base station for calls and SMS, improving sound quality and call connection speed.

*To use the technology, a smartphone with VoWiFi support is required. The technology needs to be activated in the smartphone settings.

Availability: The service is available to subscribers on tariffs for both private subscribers and corporate clients within the Wi‑Fi coverage area in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The service works only on devices that support this technology*.

How to connect?

The service can be activated through the Mobiuz mobile app, at company offices, via USSD *181#, or through the Contact Center.

How much does it cost?

Service activation cost: 0 UZS.

Notes:

  • The services «VoWiFi Access» and «Voice Call Restriction» are mutually exclusive

  • Activating the VoWiFi service will disable the «Voice Call Restriction» service

  • For the «VoWiFi Access» service to work, the «4G Network Access» and «VoLTE Access» services must be activated

  • To use the «VoWiFi Access» service, the subscriber must be within the coverage area of a Wi-Fi network with Data access

  • The subscriber must also be within the coverage area of the Mobiuz GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G network to use the «VoWiFi Access» service

  • The «VoWiFi Access» service is not available while roaming

  • The «VoWiFi Access» service is not available for numbers that have been ported from other mobile operators

  • The «VoWiFi Access» service works on all data providers' networks within the territory of Uzbekistan

  • The services «VoWiFi Access» and «Conference Call» are mutually exclusive

  • Activating the VoWiFi service will disable the «Conference Call» service

  • If a subscriber’s account is blocked, the «VoWiFi Access» service will not be available

  • For voice calls using the «VoWiFi Access» service, minutes are deducted according to the subscriber's tariff or pack, or charged at the standard out-of-plan rate

  • For SMS sent using the «VoWiFi Access» service, SMS are deducted according to the subscriber's tariff or pack, or charged at the standard out-of-plan rate

  • Data from the tariff, MB packs, or Data traffic are not consumed during voice calls using the «VoWiFi Access» service

  • Voice calls and SMS using the «VoWiFi Access» service will appear in the bill details as used minutes and SMS

  • Technical traffic generated by the «VoWiFi Access» service during voice calls is not billed and does not appear in the bill details

  • If a subscriber moves out of Wi-Fi coverage during a call, the call will automatically switch to the 4G/VoLTE network without interruption

  • When making USSD requests, the subscriber will switch to the 2G/3G/LTE network

How to set up VoWiFi on a smartphone?

To enable VoWiFi on your smartphone, the latest official software version must be installed.

1. Enable the Wi-Fi calling (VoWiFi) feature in your smartphone settings.

2. Connect to and authorize on a Wi-Fi network.

3. You will see a new icon on the screen and during a call — a phone receiver with a Wi-Fi symbol or the text VoWiFi.

No, during voice calls with the «»VoWiFi Access»» service, minutes are deducted according to the tariff or minute pack, or charged at the standard out-of-plan rate.

Where does VoWiFi work?

VoWiFi works within the range of a Wi-Fi router. If you move out of Wi-Fi range, you will automatically make and receive calls via the available 2G, 3G, or LTE mobile network.

Under what conditions might the service not work?

If the smartphone does not support VoWiFi technology.

What happens if you move out of Wi-Fi coverage during a call?
