Information about costs and registration methods
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit code assigned to a device with a SIM module, which allows the device to be recognized on a mobile operator's network.
Registration of the IMEI code is mandatory for all devices with a SIM module (Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 778 dated 17.09.2019).
When is it necessary to register the IMEI?
Residents and non-residents planning to use a local SIM card:
- Within 30 calendar days from the date of the first network event (connection of a local mobile operator's SIM card).
- For foreign citizens entering Uzbekistan and planning to use a local SIM card, this period is extended to 60 days from the date of the first network event.
- If the device was not declared upon import, registration is only possible after payment of duties.
Non-residents using roaming (foreign SIM card):
- IMEI registration is free and not mandatory if you do not plan to purchase a local SIM card and will only use roaming.
